Jose Mourinho’s move to Manchester United has reportedly been delayed because his former club Chelsea still own the rights to his name, according to the Telegraph.
The 53-year-old is understood to have agreed terms on the length of his contract and salary with Manchester United but it was revealed by a sports lawyer on Twitter, Jake Cohen, ‘Jose Mourinho’ is a trademark registered of Chelsea.
And as it is detailed by European Union’s Intellectual Property Office database, Issues regarding Mourinho’s image rights remain and still need to be resolved before the appointment is confirmed as new Manchester United.
